![]() On September 10, 1999, Fruit Town Piru member Derrick Ballard was shot and killed. Lewis informed an officer, "we'll take care of it." On November 23, 1998, Lewis and another Fruit Town Piru gang member, Stephen Cheatham, suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds. Lewis's gang moniker was "Monster" or "Monster Ru." Lewis was a member of the Fruit Town Piru gang.
